Detailed Information

If you’re heading to La Digue, one place you absolutely need to know about is La Digue Island Lodge. It’s actually the very first hotel on the island, and you can feel that mix of history and charm as soon as you step onto the property. Imagine little wooden A-frame chalets tucked away in tropical gardens, just a few steps from the beach—it’s like staying in your own private island hideaway.

The setting couldn’t be better. You’ve got six acres of greenery, swaying palms, and a gorgeous beach right in front of you. Some of the chalets sit directly on the sand, so you can wake up and walk straight out to the ocean. Others are nestled in the gardens, giving you that peaceful “lost in nature” vibe. If you’re traveling as a family or group, there are villas inside L’Union Estate Park, super close to the famous Anse Source d’Argent.

Inside, the rooms are simple but comfortable, with air-con, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee making, and everything you need to feel at home. But honestly, you won’t spend much time indoors—because the rest of the lodge has plenty to keep you busy. There’s a big pool, a little spa if you want to relax, and even a dive center if you’re keen to explore the reefs.

Food is a real highlight. The beachfront Marmit restaurant serves Creole-inspired dishes, with buffets and themed nights, often with live local music. Or, grab a light snack by the pool or a cocktail at the Old Bar as the sun goes down—it’s that kind of place where the pace is slow, and life feels good.

La Digue Island Lodge isn’t just a hotel—it’s the kind of spot you’ll remember long after your holiday ends.
